Innsbruck

Sunday morning we checked out and took at taxi to a local church meetinghouse. We loved going to church here.

It was my first time ever attending church outside of the states and I had a great feeling entering the church – after traveling for a week it was nice to suddenly have 60 or 70 people that you could easily relate to. We met the missionaries (one from Timpview) and some other American travelers. The service was neat – we had to use headphones as everything was in German (or Austrian?).
Our train to Venice left that night at 11:05 pm (overnight train) from Innsbruck so we took the Eurail to Innsbruck right after church and spent the day there. It ended up being really fun.

It was very similar to Salzburg in that there were lots of cobblestone streets with connecting Austrian shops. We loved how each of the connecting shops were different colors and had different designs.

Innsbruck is located in a valley with the Alps on both sides – it reminded us of Park City but older and with more character.

Most of the afternoon we simply wandered around, talked to some people (including a couple people we had already met at restaurants and hostels before) and got dinner at a really good Italian place.

We finished off the night by spending about two hours in a local park, reading and napping.

  1. Church sounded so great! Headphones is our life here - you'll get to do it again in Antwerpen! Such a small world that you ran into a missionary from Timpview! You and Em look really cute and happy!
